In un mondo che cambia ad una velocità mai vista prima sorgono spontanee alcune domande: che valori esprimerà la società di domani? Che ruolo avrà la cultura? Siamo convinti che la cultura sia profondamente utile e necessaria, oltre che coinvolgente e attrattiva. Deve arricchire la nostra vita quotidiana, aiutarci a capire i cambiamenti che avvengono in noi e nel mondo. L’obiettivo del nostro progetto nasce quindi da un desiderio di far incontrare e far dialogare più forme d’arte in un’espressione unica nel genere, nel linguaggio e nella rappresentazione della stessa. La convinzione è che la ripresa di un dialogo profondo tra discipline artistiche possa portare a risultati imprevedibili e di grande fascino e YOY vuol rappresentare un momento di approfondimento delle potenzialità di questa nuova “dialettica” artistica in chiave contemporanea.
In a world that changes at a speed never seen before, some questions arise spontaneously: what values will tomorrow’s society express? What role will culture play? We are convinced that culture is deeply useful and necessary, as well as engaging and attractive. It must enrich our daily lives, help us to understand the changes that take place in us and in the world. The goal of our project is therefore born from a desire to bring together and make dialogue more art forms in a unique expression in the genre, in the language and in the representation of the same. The conviction is that the resumption of a deep dialogue between artistic disciplines can lead to unpredictable results of great charm and YOY wants to represent a moment of deepening of the potentialities of this new artistic “dialectic” in contemporary key.

The works and artists featured on this page are more than simply collaborations or references. They are part of the research journey that nourishes YOY: encounters, visions, and artistic languages that have helped shape our understanding of creative practice. Each reference is a trace. Some have given rise to performances, others have inspired questions, images, or new directions of inquiry. Together, they form an open map of the relationships that run through our projects, connecting visual arts, dance, music, and contemporary thought.

I Lestrigoni e i Ciclopi
o la furia di Nettuno non temere,
non sarà questo il genere di incontri
se il pensiero resta alto e un sentimento
fermo guida il tuo spirito e il tuo corpo.
In Ciclopi e Lestrigoni, no certo,
né nell’irato Poseidone incapperai
se non li porti dentro
se l’anima non te li mette contro.
Devi augurarti che la strada sia lunga.
Che i mattini d’estate siano tanti
quando nei porti – finalmente e con che gioia –
toccherai terra tu per la prima volta:
negli empori fenici indugia e acquista
madreperle coralli ebano e ambre
tutta merce fina, anche profumi
penetranti d’ogni sorta;
più profumi inebrianti che puoi,
va in molte città egizie
impara una quantità di cose dai dotti.
Sempre devi avere in mente Itaca –
raggiungerla sia il pensiero costante.
Soprattutto, non affrettare il viaggio;

unless you bring them along inside your soul,

Hope your road is a long one.
May there be many summer mornings when,
with what pleasure, what joy,
you enter harbors you’re seeing for the first time;
may you stop at Phoenician trading stations
to buy fine things,
mother of pearl and coral, amber and ebony,
sensual perfume of every kind—
as many sensual perfumes as you can;
and may you visit many Egyptian cities

Keep Ithaka always in your mind.
Arriving there is what you’re destined for.
But don’t hurry the journey at all.
Better if it lasts for years,

not expecting Ithaka to make you rich.
Ithaka gave you the marvelous journey.
Without her you wouldn’t have set out.
She has nothing left to give you now.
And if you find her poor, Ithaka won’t have fooled you.
Wise as you will have become, so full of experience,
you’ll have understood by then what these Ithaka
mean.
